Below are three movie files that cover the different areas I have taught over the years. The movies are meant to show student understanding of principles, concepts, and/or techniques; they are not a "best of" show. The work is that of the student whose name is listed in the lower third of the video. I am very grateful to have been a part of their artistic journeys.
This first video focuses on character design and development, as well as various preproduction stages. With character design, the focus was on basic drawing development as well as making the personality of the character apparent in their visual representations. In the pre-production pieces the focus is on visual storytelling, timing, and differentiation between characters.
This second reel covers motion studies from the beginner stage to more advanced actions and techniques, including digital ink and paint.
The third reel covers Flash vector animation, including symbol based character animation, key frame based character animation, lip synch, and body language studies. There are also examples of 2D motion graphics pieces created primarily in After Effects.
